FAQs

It frames world-protection (loka-hita) as the purpose of divine intervention—Shiva’s grace operates through Shakti, reminding devotees that Linga worship seeks restoration of dharma and removal of pasha-like afflictions that harm the worlds.

Shiva-tattva is implied as Pati, the sovereign protector of beings, whose will is enacted through Shakti; the destruction of adharma (Daruka) is not mere violence but a compassionate act for universal welfare.

The verse highlights prārthanā (devotional supplication) to Shakti for loka-kalyāṇa; in a Shaiva-Siddhanta lens, such prayer supports Pashupata-oriented discipline by aligning the pashu (soul) with Pati’s intent to cut bonds (pāśa) that manifest as oppression and disorder.
