Sukta 2
सं वि॑शन्त्वि॒ह पि॒तरः॒ स्वा नः॑ स्यो॒नं कृ॒ण्वन्तः॑ प्रति॒रन्त॒ आयुः॑ । तेभ्यः॑ शकेम ह॒विषा॒ नक्ष॑माणा॒ ज्योग् जीव॑न्तः श॒रदः॑ पुरू॒चीः
sáṃ víśantv ihá pitáraḥ svā́ naḥ syonáṃ kṛṇvántaḥ pratiránta ā́yuḥ | tébhyaḥ śakema havíṣā nákṣamāṇā jyóg jī́vantaḥ śarádaḥ purūcī́ḥ ||
Let the Fathers, our own, enter together here; making for us a kindly resting-place, repelling away our life’s undoing. To them may we have power to reach with oblation, attaining their grace—living long, through many an autumn.
ഞങ്ങളുടെ സ്വന്തം പിതൃകൾ ഇവിടെ ഒരുമിച്ച് പ്രവേശിക്കട്ടെ; ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് സ്നേഹപൂർണ്ണമായ, ശുഭകരമായ ആശ്രയസ്ഥലം ഒരുക്കി, നമ്മുടെ ആയുസ്സിന്റെ നാശം അകറ്റട്ടെ. അവർക്കു ഹവിഷാ (അർപ്പണം) കൊണ്ടു നാം എത്തിച്ചേരാൻ കഴിവുള്ളവരാകട്ടെ; അവരുടെ കൃപ പ്രാപിച്ച്—അനേകം ശരദൃതുക്കൾ വരെ ദീർഘായുസ്സോടെ ജീവിക്കട്ടെ.
