Atharva Veda 18.2.30 — Kanda 18, Anuvaka 1, Sukta 2, Mantra 30

Sukta 2

यां ते॑ धे॒नुं नि॑पृ॒णामि॒ यमु॑ ते क्षी॒र ओ॑द॒नम्। तेना॒ जन॑स्यासो भ॒र्ता योऽत्रास॒दजी॑वनः

yā́ṃ te dhenúṃ nipṛṇā́mi yám u te kṣīrá odanáṃ | ténā jánasyā́so bhartā́ yó ’trāsad ájīvanaḥ ||

The milch-cow which I bestow on thee, and the milked rice-gruel which is thine—therewith be thou the people’s sustainer, thou who here wast lying lifeless.

ഞാൻ നിനക്കു അർപ്പിക്കുന്ന ധേനു (പാൽ തരുന്ന പശു)യും നിനക്കുള്ള ക്ഷീര-ഓദനം (പാൽ ചേർത്ത അന്നം/പായസം)യും—അതിനാൽ നീ ജനങ്ങളുടെ പോഷകനാകുക; ഇവിടെ നിർജീവമായി കിടന്നിരുന്നവനേ.
