ಆಮೇಲೆ ಹರ್ಷಗೊಂಡ ಚತುರ್ವಕ್ತ್ರ (ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ)ನು ಆ ಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲೇ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಹೇಶ್ವರ ಲಿಂಗವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದನು; ಅದು ‘ಕಪಾಲೇಶ್ವರ’ ಎಂಬ ನಾಮದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧವಾಯಿತು.
