स्वयंभूते ऽथ वा लिंगे आर्षके वैदिके ऽपि वा । अभावे हेमरत्नानामशक्तौ च तदर्जने
svayaṃbhūte 'tha vā liṃge ārṣake vaidike 'pi vā | abhāve hemaratnānāmaśaktau ca tadarjane
リンガがスヴァヤンブー(自ずから顕れたもの)であれ、聖仙(ṛṣi)の伝統に従って स्थापितされたものであれ、あるいはヴェーダの規定に則るものであれ—黄金や宝玉が無い、またはそれを得る力が無いときも、可能な範囲の供物にて礼拝を行うべきである。

Sthala Purana: The verse generalizes liṅga-bheda (svayaṃbhūta/ārṣa/vaidika) rather than a single sthala; it supports the idea that self-manifest and scripturally established liṅgas are valid loci of grace even without costly upacāras.
Significance: Encourages worship without discouragement due to lack of gold/gems; emphasizes intention and scriptural legitimacy over luxury, supporting broad access to Śiva-darśana.
Offering: pushpa
It emphasizes that Shiva’s grace is reached through sincere devotion and right intention, not merely through expensive materials—an inner Shaiva Siddhanta principle where bhakti and purity of offering outweigh display.
It recognizes multiple authoritative modes of Liṅga worship—self-manifest (svayaṃbhū), rishi-traditional, and Vedic—while teaching that Saguna worship remains valid even when ideal ritual wealth (gold/gems) is not attainable.
Perform Liṅga pūjā according to one’s capacity—offer water, bilva leaves, mantra-japa (especially the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), and simple, pure items rather than postponing worship for lack of costly offerings.
