Sukta 5
अजो वा इदमग्ने व्यऽक्रमत तस्योर इयमभवद् द्यौः पृष्ठम्। अन्तरिक्षं मध्यं दिशः पार्श्वे समुद्रौ कुक्षी
ajó vá idám agne ví ’kramata tásyorá iyám abhavad dyáuḥ pṛṣṭhám | antárikṣaṃ mádhyaṃ díśaḥ pārśvé samudráu kúḳṣī ||
Aja, verily, O Agni, strode forth and pervaded this (All): of him this became the breast; heaven the back; the mid-air the middle; the quarters the sides; the two seas the two bellies.
まことに、アグニ(Agni)よ、アジャ(Aja)は歩み出て、これなる一切に遍満した。彼の胸がここ(大地)となり、天が背となり、中空(antarikṣa)が中ほどとなり、方角が脇となり、二つの海が二つの腹となった。
