Description of the Māhātmya of Gokarṇeśvara and Jaleśvara (Śaileśvara) in the Śleṣmātaka Forest
brāhmaṇaḥ kṣatriyo vaiśyaḥ śūdraḥ strī vāpi saṅgatāḥ || śaileśvaraṃ tu tatsthānaṃ bhaktitaḥ samupāsate ||
Varāha
It provides evidence of how Purāṇic texts portray pilgrimage spaces as shared cultural sites, describing multi-group participation in worship within a sacred geography frame.
Śaileśvara and its sthāna (“that place/abode”) are named; the verse itself does not supply further coordinates for modern identification.
Devotional approach (bhakti) to a heritage site is emphasized as accessible to diverse social groups.
