Description of the City of Dharmarāja
Yama
kvacin nṛtyan kvacit tiṣṭhan kvacid bandhana-saṃsthitaḥ || evaṃ śata-sahasrāṇi tasya rājñaḥ purottame ||
Varāha (default, speaker not explicit in fragment)
It offers a compressed, enumerative snapshot of urban life, reflecting Purāṇic methods of conveying scale (śata-sahasra) and diversity of activity.
The verse references 'purottama' (an excellent city) without naming it; identification depends on surrounding verses not provided here.
No explicit ethical injunction is present; the verse functions as descriptive reportage of varied human states within an urban setting.
