Determination of the Origin and Procedure of the Ancestral Offering

सात्त्विकं नावबुद्ध्यन्ति कर्मदोषेण तामसः ॥ तामसं नरकं विन्द्यात्तिर्यग्योनिं च राक्षसीम् ॥
sāttvikaṃ nāvabuddhyanti karmadoṣeṇa tāmasaḥ | tāmasaṃ narakaṃ vindyāt tiryagyoniṃ ca rākṣasīm ||
जिनके अंदर तामस गुण ज़्यादा है, वो सात्त्विक बात समझ नहीं पाते। उनके करम में खोट होती है। जो तामस के पीछे चलता है, वो नरक जाता है। वो जानवर भी बनता है, या राक्षस जैसा पैदा होता है।
