Hymn to Varāha and Pṛthivī’s Inquiry
Prelude to the Sanatkumāra Dialogue
ādityas tvaṃ yugāvartās tvaṃ tapasvī mahātapāḥ || apramāṇaḥ prameyo 'si ṛṣīṇāṃ ca mahānṛṣiḥ ||
Pṛthivī (default, hymn-voice addressing Varāha/Viṣṇu in dialogue frame)
It preserves a Purāṇic synthesis of cosmology and philosophical terminology (pramāṇa/prameya), showing how scholastic concepts entered devotional praise.
No geographic place-name appears; the imagery is solar and temporal (Sun and yuga-cycles).
The verse elevates tapas (disciplined austerity) as a paradigmatic value, presenting it as a divine attribute and aspirational model.
