Yagyavalkya Upanishad: Verse 27
न पाणिपादचपलो न नेत्रचपलो यतिः । न च वाक्चपलश्चैव ब्रह्मभूतो जितेन्द्रियः ॥२७॥
न । पाणि-पाद-चपलः । न । नेत्र-चपलः । यतिः । न । च । वाक्-चपलः । च । एव । ब्रह्म-भूतः । जित-इन्द्रियः ॥२७॥
na pāṇipādacapalo na netracapalo yatiḥ | na ca vākcapalaś caiva brahmabhūto jitendriyaḥ ||27||
जो संन्यासी है, वो हाथ पैर से हिला-डुला नहीं करता। उसकी आँखें भी इधर-उधर नहीं घूरती। वो ज़्यादा बोलता नहीं। जब इंसान भगवान को पा लेता है, तब उसके ऊपर अपनी इंद्रियों का कंट्रोल हो जाता है।
A renunciant is not fickle in hands and feet, not fickle in the eyes, and not fickle in speech; having become Brahman, he is one who has conquered the senses.
