Sukta 9.67
त्वं सुतो नृमादनो दधन्वान्मत्सरिन्तमः । इन्द्राय सूरिरन्धसा ॥
tváṃ sutó nṛ-mā́dano dádhanvān matsarín-tamaḥ | índrāya sūrír ándhasā ||
जब सोम को प्रेस करते हैं, वो इंसान को खुश करता है। यह एक ऐसा रस है जो सबसे ज़्यादा नशा देता है। यह इंद्र के लिए स्पेशल है, इंद्र को ताकत देता है।
Pressed Soma-juice delights men; it is a bearer, the most exhilarating, an inspired giver of Soma-essence for Indra.
When the Soma-consciousness is “pressed” (brought out by tapas and right method), it gladdens the human nature and becomes the carrier of offerings upward. As the most ‘intoxicating’ (matsarintamaḥ), it lifts the mind into Indra’s illumined power—ananda fueling decisive insight.
Joy (ānanda) purified and consciously offered becomes the strongest catalyst for illumination; the higher mind awakens most surely when delight is disciplined and directed.
Soma-ritual, ecstasy, Indra empowerment, human transformation
The anonymity is typical of many Soma-Pavamāna verses: the ‘seer’ is the universal yogic experience of Soma’s purification—an impersonal revelation of delight becoming a power for illumination.
The purifying current that carries the offering to the gods; mediator between earth-nature and the luminous worlds.
Ananda as a dynamic force: it clarifies, uplifts, and feeds Indra (illumined mind) so that insight becomes victorious action.
Soma pressing and purification (Pavamāna recitations at Soma-yajña)

Likely Jagatī (common in Soma Pavamāna hymns; 4×12 syllables)
48
4 padas of ~12 syllables each
Long, streaming cadence suited to ‘flow’ imagery; expansive and carrying.
Induces uplift and forward movement of feeling into clarity; supports a sustained offering-mood rather than abrupt emphasis.
Soma pressed for Indra’s draught; highlights Soma’s exhilaration (mada) and its effect on human and divine levels during Soma libations.
During Soma extraction/pressing and straining; as Soma is made fit for offering to Indra
Pressing (savana), filtering through wool/cloth, offering in libation while chanting
Use as a mantra of ‘joy offered to illumination’: chant before meditation to convert emotion into clear aspiration and insight.
nṛ-mādana: from nṛ ‘man’ + √mad ‘be exhilarated’ → that which intoxicates/delights the human. matsarin-tama: superlative of matsarin ‘intoxicating/exhilarating’. andhas: Soma-juice, potent essence; from a root meaning ‘sap/juice’ (traditional). sūri: patron/impeller; in hymns, an inspired giver—here Soma himself as the giver of andhas to Indra.
mada as uplifted ecstasy-force, human delight as sign of inner opening, Indra as recipient/activator of power
Soma’s ‘right flow’ symbolizes consciousness moving according to ṛta—purified, ordered, and effective.
Andhas (essence) as truth-extract: what remains when obscurity is removed.
Purification as a microcosmic creation: from mixed nature to clarified divine substance.
Proto-Vedāntic/Integral (Aurobindonian): delight as a fundamental plane powering higher knowledge.
The ‘juice’ is distilled consciousness; its exhilaration is not sensory intoxication but the rapture that opens the mind to luminous truth.
Offer the purified delight of the heart upward to the illumined mind; let joy become clarity.
ājñā (illumination) supported by anāhata (uplifted joy)
Gentle ujjāyī or coherent breathing (5–6 breaths/min) while feeling ‘pressing’ on inhale and ‘offering flow’ on exhale.
From emotional uplift to quiet luminous attention.
Begin with a brief inward ‘pressing’ (collect scattered energies), then chant imagining a clear stream rising to the brow; end in silent receptivity for Indra’s light.
Not fully recoverable from provided text; chant in a steady Vedic tone with clear udatta lifts on accented syllables and gentle svarita falls where naturally indicated by tradition.
Keep each pada even; lightly emphasize: tváṃ, sutaḥ, nṛ-mādánaḥ, índrāya, ándhasā (approximate). Avoid over-stressing consonant clusters.
tvaṃ: nasal ‘ṃ’ as soft anusvāra before pause, nṛ: syllabic ‘ṛ’ (as in ‘nri’)—do not insert a vowel, dadhanvān: keep ‘nv’ conjunct crisp, long ‘ā’, matsarintamaḥ: articulate ‘ts’ and ‘nt’ clearly; final ḥ as light aspiration, indrāya: long ā
Bright, flowing, slightly resonant; avoid heaviness to preserve the ‘Soma-stream’ feel.
