Sukta 7.2
विप्रा यज्ञेषु मानुषेषु कारू मन्ये वां जातवेदसा यजध्यै । ऊर्ध्वं नो अध्वरं कृतं हवेषु ता देवेषु वनथो वार्याणि ॥
víprā yajñéṣu mā́nuṣeṣu kārú manye vāṃ jā́ta-vedasā yajádhyai | ū́rdhvaṃ no adhvaráṃ kṛtáṃ háveṣu tā́ devéṣu vanatho vā́ryāṇi ||
Hum log insaanon ki tarah yagya karte hain aur humein samajh hai. Main Jatavedas ko puja ke layak samajhta hoon. Hamara yagya seedha hota hai jab hum bhagwan ko bulate hain. Isse bhagwan log humein achhi cheezein dete hain, paisa, shakti aur khushi.
Mid-hymn affirmation of the rite’s upward direction; used in invocatory sequences where Agni is established as the power that ‘wins’ boons among the gods for the sacrificer.
ascent (ūrdhva), transformation/becoming (jāta), vārya as chosen spiritual riches
An ‘upright’ adhvara is an adhvara aligned with ṛta—straight, not distorted by lower impulses.
The call (havis/hava) becomes effective when it is truthful and integral.
Jātavedas as knower of births implies a cosmos evolving through fire-intelligence; the human participates by conscious offering.
Psychological Vedism: deities as powers; yajña as inner evolutionary process
Upright flame = straight aspiration; gods’ realm = higher consciousness-powers accessible through invocation.
Establish ‘ūrdhva’ orientation: feel the spine as an offering-pillar; let aspiration rise from heart to crown.
sushumna axis; ajna/sahasrara emphasis for ‘upright ascent’
Inhale up the spine (count 4–6), exhale offering from heart (count 6–8) while repeating Jātavedase mentally.
Uplifted, straight, victorious aspiration.
Before chanting, set one pure intention. During chanting, feel the intention rise. After chanting, remain silent and receptive for ‘vāryāṇi’—new capacities, insights, and calm power.
Give a clear udatta lift on viprā and ūrdhvam; keep Jātavedasā prominent; settle with a gentle fall on vāryāṇi.
vi-prā; jā-ta-ve-da-sā; ūrdhvaṃ; ad-hva-ram; ha-ve-ṣu; vā-ryā-ṇi.
Keep long ā in jātavedasā, Retroflex ṛ not present; but keep dental vs retroflex clear in adhvaram, Do not drop final nasal in ūrdhvaṃ
Bright, confident, and ascending; slightly stronger volume on ‘ūrdhvam’.
