Yah hissa Atharvaveda ka ek khaas section hai jo dushmano ko rokne aur unki buri taakat wapas karne ke liye hai. Isme nau sukta hain jo sab ek hi anuvaka mein aate hain. Yahan mantra aur riti se log dushman ki zabaan, badbada aur chhupe dushmano ko control karte the. Main baat ye hai ki dushman ka hamla usi par wapas kar diya jata tha. Isme log apna maan samman aur kamai bachane ke liye ye path karte the. Iska style seedha aur zabardast hai, yahan vinati nahi balki dushman ko bandhne ka tareeka bataya gaya hai. Isme dushman ki buri baat ko khatam karna aur uski taakat ko wapas usi ki taraf bhiejna hai. Aaj bhi log jab koi mushkil aaye to iska padhai karte hain.

Kāṇḍa 16 is predominantly abhicārika: coercive charms that bind and restrain enemies, neutralize hostile speech, and repel or reverse harmful agencies.
In Atharvavedic thought, hostile speech—curse, slander, accusation—can function as an effective attack. The hymns therefore aim to silence, bind, or turn back such vāc to protect reputation, safety, and standing.
Although its methods are coercive, the stated goals are often protective and social: preventing harm, securing authority, and ensuring prosperity by restraining adversaries and their unseen supports.
