Vratya & Asceticism
Yeh khand ek aise sadhu ke baare mein hai jise Vratya kehte hain. Jo log samaj mein alag the, unko source bataya hai. Log isko padhte hain samajhne ke liye ki power kaise milti hai. Yeh khand alag hai kyunki isme normal ghar ke rituals nahi hain. Isme Vratya tradition pura focus mein hai.

Is adhyaya mein Vratya ke baare mein bataya gaya hai jo ek special type ka vyakti hai. Yahan bataya gaya hai ki kaise ek se shuru hokar saari duniya bani. Raja banne ke liye ek special ritual hota hai jisme singhasan par baithaya jata hai. Kala ya Year ko bahut important mana gaya hai, jaise mahine aur seasons sab ek order mein chalte hain. Raja ko charo dishaon mein apna rajya failana chahiye, khaas kar poorab ki taraf. Veda aur brahma gyan se raja ko suraksha aur samriddhi milti hai. Isme Rajanya, Vish, Sabha aur Samiti jaise log aur sansthae shamil hain. Vratya ko mehman jaise treat karke uski shakti ko achha banaya jata hai. Ye mantra raja ko majboot banata hai aur samaj ko ek saath rakhta hai.
Is adhyaya mein Vratya naam ka ek aisa vyakti bataya gaya hai jo bahar se aata hai par usmein badi shakti hoti hai. Yeh text batata hai ki us Vratya ko sahi tarah se kaise swikar karna hai. Uski body ko samajh ke usmein saal ke seasons aur din raat jaise elements ko dekha jata hai. Uske pran, apan aur vyan ko brahmand ke saath joda jata hai. Jab woh aata hai to uske liye sahi bolna aur svaha jaise shabd bolne ka niyam hai. Yeh sahi bolna aur mehmaan nawazi karne se ghar mein shanti aur samriddhi aati hai. Agar galat bolen ya galat karen to problem ho sakti hai. Isliye is text mein bataya hai ki kaise us shaktishali aagmanik ke saamne sahi reet pe behave karna hai.
In Kāṇḍa 15 the vrātya is portrayed as a liminal ascetic/outsider (often imagined as a wandering figure) who is simultaneously elevated into a cosmic-ritual person through bandhu-identifications, becoming a source of order and prosperity.
The hymns link rājya to alignment with Kāla/Year-order and brahma-knowledge: sovereignty is legitimated by integrating political authority into the temporal-cosmic structure that sustains the worlds and ritual order.
It preserves unusually focused vrātya material—para-Vedic ascetic-ritual and speculative correspondences—presented in a Brāhmaṇa-like style that differs from the more common healing, protection, or sorcery-centered Atharvanic collections.
