सूत उवाच । अथ संक्षेपतो वक्ष्ये पुराणानामनुक्रमम् । लक्षणं चैव संख्यां च उक्तभेदांस्तथैव च
sūta uvāca | atha saṃkṣepato vakṣye purāṇānāmanukramam | lakṣaṇaṃ caiva saṃkhyāṃ ca uktabhedāṃstathaiva ca
સૂતએ કહ્યું—હવે હું સંક્ષેપમાં પુરાણોનો અનુક્રમ, તેમનાં લક્ષણો, તેમની સંખ્યા તથા પ્રચલિત ભેદો પણ કહું છું।
