Type: kshetra
Listener: Devī (bhadrā)
Scene: A contrast tableau: on one side, Yama’s messengers and a sword-leaf forest fade away; on the other, a devotee who kept vigil stands calm, bathed in protective light, untouched even in dreams.
A sincere sacred night-vigil (jāgaraṇa) grants protection from fear, sin-results, and the terrors associated with death and afterlife punishment.
Prabhāsakṣetra (Prabhāsa), within the Daityasūdana Māhātmya context.
Jāgaraṇa—keeping a devotional night-vigil (commonly connected with Viṣṇu worship in this chapter’s flow).
