ऋषय ऊचुः । असमर्थाः परित्राणे जिताहारास्तपोन्विताः । नगरेणेह किं कुर्मस्तव भक्तिमभीप्सवः

ṛṣaya ūcuḥ | asamarthāḥ paritrāṇe jitāhārāstaponvitāḥ | nagareṇeha kiṃ kurmastava bhaktimabhīpsavaḥ

Les sages dirent : «Nous ne sommes pas capables d’assurer protection et gouvernement ; nous sommes sobres de nourriture et pourvus d’austérités. Que ferions-nous ici d’une cité, nous qui ne désirons que la dévotion envers Toi ?»
