Ṛṣayaḥ (the sages)
Tirtha: Sūrya-kṣetra (specific seat at nimba-mūla)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Vālmīki
Scene: At the base of a nimba tree, a radiant Sūrya presence stands—golden, haloed, holding lotuses—while sages instruct Vālmīki to worship; dawn light floods the riverbank.
A tīrtha’s power is anchored in its presiding deity; knowing and worshiping that deity is the direct path to the site’s blessings.
The sacred spot at the nimba tree near Devikā-taṭa in Prabhāsa-kṣetra, identified as a Sūrya-sthāna.
Ārādhana (devotional worship/propitiation) of Sūrya is explicitly prescribed.
