ईश्वर उवाच । अथातस्त्वां प्रव क्ष्यामि यथासावमरोऽभवत् । आसीन्मुनिः पुराकल्पे मृकण्ड इति विश्रुतः
īśvara uvāca | athātastvāṃ prava kṣyāmi yathāsāvamaro'bhavat | āsīnmuniḥ purākalpe mṛkaṇḍa iti viśrutaḥ
Īśvara dit : «À présent, je t’expliquerai comment il devint immortel. Dans un âge ancien, il y eut un sage renommé du nom de Mṛkaṇḍa.»
