अमरत्वं यतो नास्ति प्राणिनां भुवि शंकर । देवानामपि कल्पांते स कथं न मृतो मुनिः
amaratvaṃ yato nāsti prāṇināṃ bhuvi śaṃkara | devānāmapi kalpāṃte sa kathaṃ na mṛto muniḥ
«Puisque l’immortalité n’existe pas pour les êtres sur la terre, ô Śaṅkara, et que même les dieux périssent à la fin d’un kalpa, comment donc ce sage n’est-il pas mort ?»
