Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra (context for Siddheśvara origin)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Devī (Pārvatī)
Scene: The sage performs a thousand Cāndrāyaṇas and the Sāṃtapana penance; his body becomes emaciated, he lives on scant food, and adopts digvāsas—radical renunciation—intensifying the atmosphere of purification and detachment.
Purity and resolve expressed through vrata and tapas are honored as potent disciplines that prepare the seeker for divine revelation.
Prabhāsa-kṣetra remains the implied sacred setting for these vows and penances.
Cāndrāyaṇa-vrata and Sāṃtapana penance are explicitly named, along with strict diet and ascetic nakedness (digvāsa).
