bhagavānuvāca | adyaprabhṛti me cātra liṃge vāso bhaviṣyati | tvaṃ ca tadrūpasaṃpanno viśeṣādbalavegabhāk
Type: kshetra
Scene: Śiva speaks a decisive boon: the liṅga radiates as if ‘inhabited’; Garuḍa’s body subtly shifts—wings broaden, posture becomes powerful—signifying bestowed bala and vega.
Śiva’s grace sanctifies geography: the Lord agrees to abide in a liṅga, turning the site into a perpetual refuge, while also uplifting the devotee’s capacity.
The chapter’s liṅga-tīrtha is glorified by Śiva’s declaration of nitya-vāsa (permanent residence) in that liṅga.
The theological basis for liṅga-worship at a particular sthala: Śiva’s affirmed presence in the installed liṅga from that day onward.
