अथ तस्या ययौ कालः सुप्रभूतः सुतं विना । ततो वैराग्यसंपन्ना सुतार्थं तपसि स्थिता

atha tasyā yayau kālaḥ suprabhūtaḥ sutaṃ vinā | tato vairāgyasaṃpannā sutārthaṃ tapasi sthitā

Puis, le temps s’écoula longuement pour elle sans qu’elle eût de fils. Alors, remplie de détachement, elle s’établit dans les austérités afin d’obtenir un enfant.
