याज्ञवल्क्य प्रतुष्टोऽहं तव ब्राह्मणसत्तम । इष्टं ददामि ते ब्रूहि यद्यत्संप्रति वांछितम्
yājñavalkya pratuṣṭo'haṃ tava brāhmaṇasattama | iṣṭaṃ dadāmi te brūhi yadyatsaṃprati vāṃchitam
«Yājñavalkya, le plus éminent des brāhmaṇa, je suis satisfait de toi. Je t’accorderai la grâce que tu désires : dis-moi donc ce que tu souhaites à présent.»
