«Je suis pleinement satisfait de toi—que l’auspice soit tien, ô meilleur des rois—à cause de ton don de couvertures imprégnées de ghee, et parce que tu l’as fait sans compter, sans mesure.»
Śiva
Type: kshetra
Scene: A king humbly offers multiple ghṛta-kambalas (ghee-soaked blankets or ghee-offering associated with kambala-dāna) to a radiant Śiva; the deity grants an auspicious blessing, attendants and lamps glowing at dusk.
The spirit of giving—unmeasured and wholehearted—draws Śiva’s grace more than mere ritual formality.
The verse praises the act (ghṛta-kaṃbala-dāna) within the chapter’s tīrtha setting; the site is not specified in this line.
Ghṛta-kaṃbala-dāna: donating “ghee-blankets,” performed abundantly (without numerical limit).
