अहमग्नौ करिष्यामि होमं पितृसमुद्भवम् । अनुज्ञा दीयतां मह्यमपसव्याश्रितस्य भोः
ahamagnau kariṣyāmi homaṃ pitṛsamudbhavam | anujñā dīyatāṃ mahyamapasavyāśritasya bhoḥ
«J’accomplirai dans le feu le homa né pour les Pitṛs. Accordez-moi la permission, ô vénérables : je me tiens selon la manière apasavya, propre aux rites des ancêtres.»

Scene: A dvija, seated near a small homa-kuṇḍa, turns apasavya and addresses elder brāhmaṇas with folded hands, declaring his intent to perform pitṛ-homa; the fire is prepared but not yet offered into.
Even sacred acts require sanctioned conduct—permission and correct posture reflect reverence and ritual legitimacy.
The verse is procedural for śrāddha at a tīrtha but does not name the location.
