Transliteration

tasmāttapaḥ kariṣyāmi yadasādhyaṃ surairapi | svaputraṃ sve pade dhṛtvā tataścakre tapo mahat

Translation

«C’est pourquoi j’accomplirai une austérité (tapas) que même les dieux ne peuvent atteindre.» Ayant établi son propre fils à sa place, il entreprit alors un grand tapas.
