किं गोत्रः कतमस्तस्याः पिता किंप्रवरः स्मृतः । एवं तस्यान्वयं ज्ञात्वा गोत्रप्रवरसंयुतम्
kiṃ gotraḥ katamastasyāḥ pitā kiṃpravaraḥ smṛtaḥ | evaṃ tasyānvayaṃ jñātvā gotrapravarasaṃyutam
«Quel est son gotra ? Qui est tenu pour son père ? Quel pravara est rappelé pour elle ?»—ainsi, après avoir établi de cette manière sa lignée, avec gotra et pravara, (le rite de purification) doit se poursuivre sur une base ancestrale dûment vérifiée.
