En ce lieu, qui renferme en soi tous les tīrthas, nul bain n’est supérieur au bain accompli là. Puis, escortés de tous les dieux, nous retournerons de nouveau dans nos propres demeures.
Audumbarī (contextual continuation of her speech)
Tirtha: Hāṭakeśvara-kṣetra (sarvatīrthamaya tīrtha within it)
Type: kshetra
Scene: A radiant tīrtha-ghāṭa within Hāṭakeśvara-kṣetra; devotees and divine beings stand together as the waters shimmer, suggesting ‘all tīrthas’ present in one place; the gods prepare to depart to their abodes after the supreme bath.
A divinely charged kṣetra can concentrate the merit of many pilgrimages; one proper bath there equals the fruit of all tīrthas.
Hāṭakeśvara-kṣetra (within Nāgara Khaṇḍa) is praised as ‘sarva-tīrtha-maya’—containing the essence of all tīrthas.
Snāna (ritual bathing) at this sacred spot is presented as unsurpassed in spiritual efficacy.
