Sūta
Type: kshetra
Listener: Ṛṣis
Scene: Sūta recites the roster: Bhṛgu appointed as Hotṛ; Cyavana as Maitrāvaruṇa. The scene alternates between the storyteller and a visionary tableau of the yajña hall where the two sages take their seats with ritual implements.
Ritual excellence is linked to worthy exemplars: renowned sages are portrayed as embodying the competence required for yajña roles.
The verse is part of a tīrtha-māhātmya chapter in Nāgarakhaṇḍa; it focuses on priestly appointments rather than the site name.
Assignment of specific Vedic officiant roles: Hotṛ to Bhṛgu, Maitrāvaruṇa to Cyavana.
