Tirtha: Kelīśvarī (as a kṣetra-devatā/temple form)
Type: kshetra
Scene: A divine proclamation scene: the goddess stands in her distinctive ‘Kelīśvarī’ form, radiant and playful yet sovereign, while sages/priests receive the decree that her name will be renowned across the three worlds; devotees approach with folded hands.
A deity’s revealed form and name become a stable refuge for devotees; worship offered with bhakti to that form is especially efficacious.
The setting is Nāgarakhaṇḍa’s Tīrthamāhātmya; this verse focuses on the deity’s name and form rather than naming a particular tīrtha.
Arcana (devotional worship) to Kelīśvarī ‘in this very form’ is prescribed in principle.
