ततः स विनयादाह देवीं शिखरवासिनीम् । यदर्थमंब सृष्टोऽहं तत्कार्यं वद मा चिरम्

tataḥ sa vinayādāha devīṃ śikharavāsinīm | yadarthamaṃba sṛṣṭo'haṃ tatkāryaṃ vada mā ciram

Alors, avec humilité, il s’adressa à la Déesse qui demeure au sommet : « Mère, dans quel but ai-je été créé ? Dis-moi ma tâche, sans tarder. »
