Skanda
Tirtha: Kāśī
Type: kshetra
Scene: A sacred fire altar near a Kāśī ghāṭ; a householder offers sesame with ghee into the flames, while brāhmaṇas are seated for bhojana; in the background, the Gaṅgā flows as the performer offers tarpaṇa for ancestors.
Dharma is fulfilled through ancestral rites, sacrificial offerings, and service to brāhmaṇas—linking personal piety with gratitude to lineage.
Within Kāśī-khaṇḍa’s sacred frame, the verse highlights meritorious rites rather than a named tirtha.
Tila-homa with ghee, feeding brāhmaṇas, and performing pitṛ-uddiśya śrāddha.
