Transliteration

mahānimneṣu kaccheṣu munivṛttyā janāḥ sthitāḥ | araṇyānyavanirjātā grāmakharvaṭa varjitā

Translation

Dans les profondes dépressions et les terres marécageuses, les gens demeurèrent, vivant à la manière des ascètes. La terre devint une friche ; villages et bourgs de marché furent délaissés.
