Skanda Purana — Brahma Khanda, Shloka 7

न धर्मात्परमस्तीह तपो नानशनात्परम् । स्नात्वा यः कुरुते ऽत्रापि श्राद्धं पिंडोदकक्रियाम्

na dharmātparamastīha tapo nānaśanātparam | snātvā yaḥ kurute 'trāpi śrāddhaṃ piṃḍodakakriyām

Ici, rien n’est plus élevé que le dharma, et nulle austérité n’est supérieure au jeûne. Et quiconque s’y baigne et accomplit le Śrāddha—offrande de piṇḍa et rites d’eau—obtient un grand mérite.
