Type: kshetra
Scene: Śiva speaks compassionately to the tapasvin Dānava: ‘Ask your desired boon’; the Dānava, startled, turns inward in thought, eyes lowered, hands half-folded.
Divine grace may come swiftly, but one’s inner intention determines whether a boon becomes a blessing or a cause of downfall.
The setting belongs to the Revā Khaṇḍa (Narmadā/Revā sacred region) within the Āvantya Khaṇḍa, though this verse itself focuses on the boon-dialogue rather than a named tīrtha.
No explicit ritual (snāna, dāna, japa, vrata) is prescribed in this verse; it introduces the granting of a boon.
