तच्छ्रुत्वा ब्राह्मणी वाक्यं भीतभीतावदन्नृप । तद्वस्त्रं तु मया विप्र स्नात्वा ह्यन्तः कृतं महत्

tacchrutvā brāhmaṇī vākyaṃ bhītabhītāvadannṛpa | tadvastraṃ tu mayā vipra snātvā hyantaḥ kṛtaṃ mahat

Entendant ces paroles, la brāhmaṇī, tremblante de peur, dit : «Ô Roi ; ô vénérable brāhmaṇa : ce vêtement a été touché par moi ; après m’être baignée, je l’ai placé à l’intérieur (de mes appartements), commettant une lourde faute».
