Sūta (Lomaharṣaṇa) to the sages (deduced)
Tirtha: Garjana-tīrtha (as preceding context indicates)
Type: ghat
Listener: Yudhiṣṭhira
Scene: A serene riverbank tīrtha on Revā; an aged devotee seated in padmāsana, eyes half-closed, offering last breath with Śiva in heart; subtle vision of Śaṅkara-loka above (Kailāsa-like radiance).
A sacred place, approached with a purified mind, is portrayed as granting the highest posthumous state—abode in Śiva’s realm.
Garjana/Meghanāda Tīrtha in the Revā Khaṇḍa.
No formal rite; it emphasizes inner preparation (bhāvita-ātman) and the extraordinary fruit associated with dying at the tīrtha.
