Maheśvara (Śiva) (deduced from verse: 'devadevo maheśvaraḥ')
Tirtha: Revā-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Listener: sages
Scene: Mahādeva appears/declares; the rejected food and the despised guest are reinterpreted as sanctified; householders stunned as the divine voice settles the matter.
Darśana of the divine (or a truly exalted being) sanctifies actions and offerings; reverence transforms ordinary acts into dharmic merit.
The Revā-kṣetra tradition (Narmadā/Revā region) within the Āvantya Khaṇḍa’s Revā Khaṇḍa.
No direct ritual is prescribed here; the verse underscores sanctification through darśana and proper honoring (satkāra).
