न वयं गीतनृत्येन नाङ्गचेष्टादिभाषितैः । लुब्धा वै विषयैर्मन्ये विषया दारुणात्मकाः

na vayaṃ gītanṛtyena nāṅgaceṣṭādibhāṣitaiḥ | lubdhā vai viṣayairmanye viṣayā dāruṇātmakāḥ

Nous ne sommes point séduits par le chant et la danse, ni par les gestes du corps ni par les paroles enjôleuses. Je tiens que les objets des sens sont, en vérité, d’une nature redoutable.
