garuḍa uvāca | icchāmi vāhanaṃ viṣṇordvijendratvaṃ sureśvara | prasanne tvayi me sarvaṃ bhavatviti matirmama
Type: kshetra
Listener: Śiva (addressed as sureśvara)
Scene: Garuḍa speaks with folded hands, requesting two boons: to become Viṣṇu’s vehicle and to attain ‘dvijendratva’ (chief among the twice-born); his statement ends with firm conviction that Śiva’s pleasure makes all possible.
Faith in the Lord’s favor is portrayed as the key that makes even extraordinary aspirations attainable.
The passage sits within the Revā Khaṇḍa (Narmadā region) narrative frame; no single tīrtha is named in this verse.
None directly; the verse highlights devotion and the seeking of divine sanction for one’s dharmic aspiration.
