न जीवे वञ्चितोऽन्येन प्राणांस्त्यक्ष्ये न संशयः । एतन्मे वद विप्रेन्द्र परं कौतूहलं मम
na jīve vañcito'nyena prāṇāṃstyakṣye na saṃśayaḥ | etanme vada viprendra paraṃ kautūhalaṃ mama
«Je ne vivrais pas si j’étais trompé par un autre ; je renoncerais à la vie, sans aucun doute. Dis-le-moi, ô le meilleur des brāhmaṇas : ma curiosité est ardente.»
