Dans sa lignée, durant seize naissances, nul ne deviendra aveugle, muet ou sourd ; pas même laid ni aux ongles difformes.
Mārkaṇḍeya
Tirtha: Ravitīrtha
Type: ghat
Listener: a king (nṛpottama)
Scene: A symbolic tableau: a family line blessed by Sūrya—children and elders stand healthy and radiant, while the sun’s rays fall upon the riverbank where the original pilgrim performed snāna and darśana.
Tīrtha-merit is portrayed as extending beyond the individual to bless one’s lineage with wholeness and auspicious embodiment.
Ravitīrtha, continuing the promised results of bathing and Sūrya-darśana there.
Implicitly the prior rite (snāna and Bhāskara-darśana); this verse lists resulting blessings.
