सहस्रं तु सहस्राणामनृचां यस्तु भोजयेत् । एकस्य मन्त्रयुक्तस्य कलां नार्हति षोडशीम्
sahasraṃ tu sahasrāṇāmanṛcāṃ yastu bhojayet | ekasya mantrayuktasya kalāṃ nārhati ṣoḍaśīm
Quand bien même on nourrirait des milliers et des milliers de brāhmaṇas dépourvus de récitation du Ṛgveda, cela n’atteindrait pas même le seizième du mérite de nourrir un seul homme doté de mantra (maîtrise védique).
