Mārkaṇḍeya (deduced from immediate context of Revā Khaṇḍa narration)
Tirtha: Jaleśvara
Type: kshetra
Scene: A radiant vimāna descends amid clouds; apsarases sing and scatter flowers; the soul-figure ascends toward a luminous abode marked ‘Jaleśvara’, with watery motifs—pearls, lotuses, rippling light—suggesting the lord of waters.
Merit gained through tīrtha-related devotion matures into auspicious post-mortem attainments and honored passage.
The verse points to the attainment of the realm associated with Jaleśvara, within the Varuṇeśvara/Jaleśvara tīrtha-cycle of this adhyāya.
No new ritual is stated here; it describes the promised destination/fruit resulting from the preceding tīrtha practices.
