केवलामुष्मिकविधिः — The Rite for Exclusive Otherworldly Attainment
Liṅga-Abhiṣeka and Padma-Pūjā Protocol
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Sthala Purana: Not a site-specific Jyotirliṅga passage; it states a general phalaśruti: daily worship with pañcagandha leads to pāpa-kṣaya and attainment of Śivaloka.
Significance: Frames daily liṅga-upāsanā as a direct means to purification (mala-kṣaya) and post-mortem proximity to Śiva (Śivaloka).
Offering: pushpa
It teaches that steady, daily devotion expressed through pure offerings (pañcagandha) purifies the devotee, removing pāpa and leading to Śiva’s grace—culminating in honor in Śivaloka.
The verse supports Saguna upāsanā—worship of Śiva through tangible offerings and archana—commonly performed to the Śiva-liṅga, where fragrance symbolizes purity, reverence, and loving devotion.
Perform nitya-pūjā/archana by offering pañcagandha (five fragrances) with a focused mind; it may be accompanied by japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) as part of daily Shiva worship.
