पञ्चावरणमार्गस्थं योगेश्वरस्तोत्रम्
Pañcāvaraṇa-mārga Stotra to Yogeśvara Śiva
गोराजपुरुषः श्रीमाञ्छ्रीमच्छूलवरायुधः । तयोराज्ञां पुरस्कृत्य स मे कामं प्रयच्छतु
gorājapuruṣaḥ śrīmāñchrīmacchūlavarāyudhaḥ | tayorājñāṃ puraskṛtya sa me kāmaṃ prayacchatu
Puisse ce Seigneur glorieux—Gorājapuruṣa, portant le trident splendide comme arme suprême—honorer l’ordre du Couple divin et m’accorder la grâce désirée.
Suta Goswami (narrating the Vāyavīya discourse to the sages of Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Bhairava
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: nurturing
It models Shaiva surrender: the devotee seeks fulfilment not by egoic effort but by aligning with the divine ordinance, trusting Shiva’s grace to grant what is truly beneficial.
By praising Shiva as the trident-bearer (a Saguna form), the verse supports form-based devotion that culminates in grace; in Linga worship, the same Lord is approached as the accessible icon of Pati (Shiva) who liberates the bound soul.
A simple bhakti practice is implied: recite Shiva’s names with reverence, offer prayer for the boon while submitting it to Shiva’s will—ideally alongside Panchakshara japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and Tripuṇḍra/bhasma remembrance if part of one’s Shaiva observance.
