It elevates devotion (bhakti) to Śiva’s feet as the unifying spiritual aim, showing that even exalted cosmic beings and Vedic powers ultimately find their fulfillment in surrender to Pati (Śiva), the liberator of the bound soul (paśu).
Worship of Śiva’s feet signifies reverent approach to Saguna Śiva—often expressed through Liṅga-pūjā—where the devotee offers mind and action in humility; the Liṅga becomes the accessible form through which one attains Śiva’s grace.
Adopt pada-sevā bhāva: daily japa of the Pañcākṣarī ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") with inner humility, and offer simple worship to the Śiva-liṅga (water, bilva leaves) as an expression of surrender to Śiva’s feet.
