It highlights the Shaiva principle that supreme knowledge (jñāna) is transmitted through a realized guru after disciplined practice, leading to inner transformation recognized by accomplished sages.
Though the verse speaks of jñāna, it implies the Shaiva path where disciplined sādhanā and devotion to Saguna Shiva (often through Linga-worship) mature into purified insight, which the wise affirm as true spiritual attainment.
The verse implies regulated sādhanā under guidance—such as mantra-japa (including the Panchākṣarī), yogic restraint, and vow-based observances—through which the mind becomes fit to receive liberating knowledge.
